    Default Renault Jolly 4CV

Hello everyone, I haven't checked in on here in a while but wanted to post a few pics of how my Jolly is coming along, due to some medical issues had to put on hold for a bit but hoping to get back on working on her soon. All seats have been Re caned, took paint all the way down to metal, right now finishing up brakes, then she needs some spot welding before body work can be completed, still need to send parts for chroming.

    Presented without comment.

That should be lovely little thing when it's done. Do you have a color scheme picked out yet?

It'll be good to watch this project progress, thanks for posting up the pics! They are interesting, showing how the body has been constructed and integrated with the floorpan to give it some sort of torsional rigidity.

Going to take car back to as close to its original color as possible which appears to be a peach/melon color that is under the metal plates in the trunk then going with a cream for the canopy and dash board.

That is just lovely. Very interesting, as Simon said, to see how they did the bodywork.

I see it has the Record alloy rocker cover too.

Good luck with the rest of it and thanks for sharing the work with us.

Is this the one that was for sale about a year ago?

I look forward to seeing your project when it is complete. Hope you will consider unveiling it at one of our meets, maybe we can convince the folks at Amelia Island to do a beach car class. Let me know if I can help you in anyway.

No John this is one that my boss has bought years ago and has under a canopy in one of his sheds and I just happened to see it one day and convinced him to sell it to me, I don't think he really knew what he had as far as the extinction of it nor did I until I started doing research, was quite shocked to find out that there were only 50 of these car ever built and only a handful know to be left to say the least I was quite excited about my find.

"Quite excited" is one masterly understatement! Great find! It'll be fascinating to see that original colour for it. Marvin will love it too!

We have a 4CV Register in Australia - may I put some of your photos in our magazine as not everyone is on Aussiefrogs?

    Best wishes

I agree, it's interesting to see a "nude" Jolly. I've wondered how the body modifications looked with trim removed to get more of an idea of how they did it. Looks like a lot of work to make a Jolly! I think mocking one up would take a heck of a lot of metal-fab skill ...
    cheers,

    John

Very likable- a nice, cheerful color combo.

Many thanks Sherrie. It will be just lovely when it is finished. There is no difficulty getting mechanical parts of course.

So far I have been successful with getting the parts that I have needed as I made contact with a gentlemen in So. Florida that is very knowledable with the 4CV and he has been a great source of help. Hopefully things will continue that way as the restoration proceeds. Not a lot needed at this point as far as parts etc..
