Would it be feasible to remove the original complete rear panel and have it chromed rather than add something over the top if you like the chrome back? I've never seen it done, so I reckon you'd be the first!

Have thort of that as there seem to be many different styles out there so maybe they're mostly all custom made.

This car (the Chevy-Dauphine) is a regular here at classic car race meetings in Christchurch. The engineering has to be seen to be believed; The engine is behind the front passenger seat, but at an angle so that the bell housing is between the front seats and from here it looks like a transfer case takes the power to the rear diff, the back axle being controlled by a transverse leaf spring. Apparently it is a replica of one that originally raced in the sixties. It performs really well.

Nah, I've already got it built in my head, and stainless steel is the most logical way to go but polished aluminium would be worth a crack as well.

Then again making it out of zincanneal which is easy to bend and weld (then chromed)would be cool as well. Now I just need a car to put it on. Wonder where I can get one..

Sunroof, I reckon it'd be really cool if MG could find a dedicated Renault tragic not too far away (preferably in QLD) that maybe doesn't have time to restore all his toys and could perhaps put one of his Dauphine's up for adoption for MG to put on his rotisserie, give it a few rotations waving his magic over it and dunnah, it'll be back on the road in no time

and the people were happy ....
    cheers,

I wanna see him transplant a Floride onto a Dauphine and make a true two door dauph with soft top. Can't be to hard for him, front third dauph, middle Floride and back third dauph, and voila!

If you did happen to stumble across something suitable (all hypothetical of course) you better watch the carparazzi bringing it home and transport it through the night. Wouldn't want word getting out before it's transformed in the Masters House of Magic facility
    cheers,
