Wow. Nice. Some similarity with Alfa Romeo Gulia Sprint SS or something like that. The side air intakes give it away though and the Floride lines on the rear of the hard top.

Hope all well your end! We're fine but overloaded (again...).

And another, would it be an Ondine with the chromed rear grill or was it an option/aftermarket add-on..?

    Oh Cool! What a beast!
There was a really nice 1093 for sale at a far away land going back some time ago with a 1.4l Turbo out of an R5 I think. Looked pretty stock but had naughtiness occurring in the engine room
    cheers,

    John

I saw a yellow Dauphine in Norwood about 25 years ago with a supercharged R17 engine or something like that. Do you know it?

Not sure about a yellow one John, but there was a chap called Sean from Norton Summit who was into modding 4CV's and Dauphine's. He bought a tidy white Dauphine Gordini and gave it the R10 front & rear brakes, suspension & steering treatment, lowered with widies plus a 16TS engine or may have been R12 engine initially. He sold it to a guy in Somertown, then it went to live in Norwood near that water tower. Then Brian who also lives near there, (who is also the guy that bought my 4CV off me when I was 12 & did 16TS conversion on that) then helped sort out the Dauphine which was now painted orange with 16TS power. It had side draft Webers back then but the owner was pretty keen from memory to get the most out of it. I haven't seen it since, which would be around 10 or 12 years ago I think.
    cheers,

    John

Here's another couple with beast potential, (as far as dauphines can be) they both sport front mounted radiators.

That'll be the car I'd say. Yellow - orange, same after so many years. I was in 1st Norwood Sea Scouts at the water tower in the 1960s, and I do recall seeing the car near it in perhaps the 80s!

Thanks. I didn't know Sean or Brian that I recall though. We lived in Stepney 1973-1989 before moving to Perth.

    Cheers

Ahh, I grew up in Firle, not all that far away, and lived there from 68 (my build date) through to 86, so probably crossed paths somewhere along the line. I'd love to know what happened to the orange one. I could possibly find out if I caught up with Brian again (been a while) if he still works at Adelaide Exclusive Mech.
    cheers,

    John

    Why stop there indeed...

This one seems to have a matt main color and highly polished engine lid (and probably bonnet). It's a good way to add a bit of modern pizazz to an already stylish car, al la Bugatti Veyron. And that chromed rear grill tops it off. I like the concept

Pretty close then. If ever you find out, do let us know, about that Dauphine I mean.

Best wishes on the home front.

Veyron hey? Oh yes I see it now, but far more intimidating than a modest Veyron ... Lol

And a lot more attractive too.(but that wouldn't be hard would it?)
