Here's a nice original Dauf....with a really good description of the vehicle's condition.

Just a snipit of the 2,000,000 Dauphines produced

Can you imagine how happy Ford Australia or Holden would be if they could manufacture 2 million of one body shape? I think they'd be in a bit better position than they're in now! Trouble is people don't want the old faithfull Falcon or Commodore much anymore either. I think their days are numbered ... Oops, a bit off topic there
    cheers,

    John

Does anyone think the Dauf would overheat with the suitcase on the boot interupting the airflow....?

Doesn't the air flow out the rear panel not in? So no I don't think it'll overheat.

I guess you're right Dave, I was thinking of the Caravelle airflow (pictured right) but of course it's a different setup to the Floride (pictured left) and Dauphine....

The only thing I dislike about this car is the rear side vents have been closed off and just looks wrong. Some Wombat did the same to my Floride in a past life and I had to open them up again.

Funny, I've had it as my work PC back ground and I didn't even notice. What a chooch! Now you mention it though; it stands out like dogs balls

I am still a 50's person at heart. Still love the dresses but I think today's girls are better looking. Or perhaps Renault did a cheap skate publicity photo and just asked a few of the girls out of the office to glam up for a photo shoot. Sorry girls! Oh, the car is ok though.

    Dauphine Coupe !!!
    For the Dauphine fans...-dauphine-coupe.jpg
Found this in an Italian book. Looks like it was at a motor show somewhere in North or South America.
It has Dauphine Sport or Dauphine Coupe on a plate under the front bumper bar.

I don't know that the side intake has been closed. I think looking at the shadows on the vent behind that it is in standard form. Body colour behind the grille does make it look closed off though.

Hmmm it seems to be a Zagato, there is a whole site dedicated to Zagato and a couple of pictures as well. I didn't want to steal any images in case the Mafiosa got hold of me but here's the link.
