    Default R15/17 Amicale Club France

Their recent meeting at the Mulhouse Museum. They raffled a restored Renault R15 Phase 2. Not a bad raffle for a smallish club and you only had to attend the event to get a ticket.

The winner and lucky door prize.

That bronzy green one (!7) second from the front is the same colour my beloved 15 was (rare in Aus)
they were a good looking car for their day .

    Fantastic photos - thank you.

Not very many 15s there so they must be pretty rare in France as well as here.

I know that automatic R15' are rare any where, hence my reason for restoring mine to auto, but I am about to put it back to manual as I do not have the time to pull down the auto again. (It keeps chewing my home made shim washers) I do now have an auto from an R18 and an R12 but I could only use the parts as the external cases are not compatible. Quicker to refit the manual bits for the time being.

Photo of me meeting the President of the R15/R17 Amicale Club in France a month ago. Well actually we met on the French Belgium border and went to Han Belgium in his R17 Gordini.

I can count 8 R15s out of 31 cars in the top picture (and there is one-the red second to last at the far end which I can not see if it has a B-pillar or not) so that makes it about 1/4 of the cars. That's not bad I would think for a rare car.

Congratulations to the dedicated french brothers in arms for their passion and turnout.

Don't like the americanised front end though. Looks like what you'd expect from a cable tv pimping show, dawg.

No I don't like the phase 2 either and the rear tail gate being flush is far less interesting than that on the phase 1.

They really did spoil them when they turned them into a 2 door R20

Oh I miss my 17G. I miss it more than the 12G which surprises everyone including me.
