    Yet a modern 600cc would cream it

    Except in sound,those things make. They sound like a F1 car strapped under your Pen*s

    [QUOTE=Armidillo;1509998]

    It was the 6-cylinder engine I was after - thought MV-Augusta had made one, but it seems not.. /QUOTE]

    anorakish response: MV Agusta did make a six-cylinder 500cc racer circa 1957-8,
    it only raced a few times. but never a production 6.

    An A310 appears in Neon Genesis Evangelion I believe. So Renaults must be known of in Japan apart from the recent Nissan link.

    Renault 4CVs were built in Japan, so yes, they are known. You need to Google "Hino" and then have a look at the last derivative, the Hino Contessa. Interesting cars.

    Cheers

    A mate of mine is building these engines which would be ideal but unfortunately a bit out of my price range.
    SYNERGYPOWER

    He originally developed them for speedway midgets and did very well but I think the rules have changed and they can't use them in this area now. Basically they are 2 motorcycle engines mated together to form a V8. However there is a lot of clever stuff going on inside these things.

    Ross's Dauphine on a motor show at its new Japan home.

    Everything is still the same except the number plate bracket.

    I hope it's still actually used for what it was intended for - flat out completion, and not just a show piece!

    Ross,
    Strange that your friend didn't look into the regs regarding speedway midgets. They have had traditional ideas since way back.
    No rotary engines. Or two strokes ? Max capacity 150 cu inch. another I believe is no electronic ignitions. There are possibly others.

    On the subject of motorcycle engines, I believe Benelli may have preceded Honda with a straight 6 production engine.
