    Default R8/10 Windscreen

I'm trying to source a front laminated R8/10 windscreen and my usual sources are drawing a blank. I seem to recall possibly just before the crash, there was a thread on getting some made potentially.

Does anyone know what came of that and who it was that was trying to organise it? was it Peter J Kent?
Or does anyone have any current leads on screens?

Like most old French cars it is seemingly impossible to get body parts in Australia, certainly the case for my Floride.

I was a bit pissy one night and logic had well and truly gone out the window...

Obriens glass have an on-line booking service where you type in your details, preferred installation address, make of car etc, and they email you back within a few minutes with a price and intended installation date/time.

So I typed in 1959 Renault Floride laminated front screen ...and no return email eventuated.

Two days later the phone rings and they said "we've got one"....you could have knocked me over with a feather.

So give that a go, you never know, they just might have one for your R10.
Every day when I wake up I reach up in the darkness with my eyes shut and if I cannot feel anything that resembles a wooden lid I know it will be a good day. No lid today.

I spoke to them today - no luck. They were who I got my last one off without delay or drama. I must have just fluked that one.

I haven't been able to get hold of Ralph Moore on the phone at present, seems like there is something wrong with his phone, but he didn't have any last time I spoke to him.

    Default R8 / 10 screens

    G/DAY
It was me looking at getting some made but i didn't get a great response as numbers and can't afford to go it alone, we can still do it if we can get 10 screens made and foot the bill for the mold ($2000 ) I think.
    Cheers Peter.

    Default Ralph Moore

When I spoke to Ralph Moore last year he said he was awaiting 3 screens, two were sold already. They come from the UK apparently - about $350AUD.

I am also after one (Accidentally gave mine away )

    Oops.

I wonder how many of us there are who would pay. As Peter tried to find out last year of course.

    Default Classic Windscreens ???

Do you know where Ralph Moore was going to get the windscreens from. I want to get a few Dauphine laminated units.

I bought one from Ralph yesterday, and it's getting installed later this morning.
Supply only from Ralph Moore (at my request as I wanted to get it installed locally) was $495 incl GST. It'll be around $80 for me to get it installed. He wasn't sure how many he had exactly but discussion between he and his 2IC indicated he probably had one maybe two others after selling me mine.

Ray - the screen comes from Pilkington UK - Triplex laminated.

I will need another one within the next few years for another R8 I'm doing up and I have a friend who could use 1-2, so as depending on price - I could be interested in up to 4 myself if Peter is interested in progressing with getting them made locally.

Edit - just realised who "DBR" is, he is the friend mentioned so don't double count in terms of windscreens needed.

    Hi:
Looks like I'll be wrecking my ten , so you can buy that screen off me. But you'll need to get back to me within a week.

Make it three and I'll happily share the freight from Sydney. I want one wrapped up as a spare!

Before you all get too excited, I'd ring ralph first. He normally only keeps one or two and often doesn't have any.

I suppose if you enquired about a number of screens and left a deposit or something, he may order them in.

That's fine. I'm in no rush nor I suspect is John W.

If Ralph imports them then I would happily wait until a few are landed. Even pay a deposit if that's what is needed.

If he can also import a Dauphine screen then I daresay there are at least 2 possibly 3 needed on this side of the Wide Brown Land, too.

No it is a standard safety glass screen the shatters into 10000 pieces except for a small area on the drivers side.

Ralph Moore gets the R8 screens in from the UK, and I am sure that with a deposit he would get in 6 or however many are needed.

No, I'm in no rush either. But if someone organises a bulk buy, definitely count me in for one.
