    Default new Lattitude

    Hi guys,

From those that saw the new Lattitude on the weekend what were your thoughts.

Personally i liked the lok of the interior. It has a very upmarket look to it. Exterior is pretty conservetive but that seems to be whatis wanted here.
diesel and V6 petrol options seem good. the old laguna II V6 owners now have a V6 they can update too.
Lets hope the pricing is right and the car gets marketing support if will need to get hold in the market

Toyota made that mistake with the Avalon...IMO, it looks too boring to capture anyone's imagination, unless (Lexus style) it is loaded with goodies for the price.

    Flatitude.

    Hi Ricky
Ahhh, I thought i spotted a Latitude in the photos from the weekend.

When do they go on sale here?
    How many are in Oz?

The styling is very Honda Accord, but that seems to be what the Aussies want.

I currently lease a 2008 Megane 22 Cup and love it. I mainly got that because I didn't feel the Laguna III had enough goodies for the price.....and I couldn't get one for the price I could afford.

I will seriously think about leasing a Latitude when my Megane lease ceases. After having a R25 V6 Baccara with ALL the goodies and the Laguna V6 Phase 1 with most of the goodies, i think i will certainly be ready for that type of luxo cruiser in about 4 years.

I really think Renault Oz should have brought in the Initiale Laguna III model as well as the cheaper dynamics etc. Has the integrated sat nav etc....or perhaps the Laguna Coupe'? Now that is one nice car!!

    daniel,

i believe the two cars on show (1 diesel 1 petrol) are going to be press cars for reviews/drive days.
The dealership training dates for Lattitude havent been confirmed 10% to my knowledge so I dont see it being in showrooms in the next few weeks.
It may be 2-3 mths before coming out of hiding.
Itoo think it will be a direct competitor for V6 Accord Luxury ($50k price tag) as well as Audi A4 2 litre diesel. I am sure you will get more in a Lattitude for your money than A4... but not the badge cred or high service bills.

    Thanks Ricky
    Your info is always appreciated.
Let's hope it is a good seller. They manage to sell the big Citroen's at over 100K, so a sub $50K Latitude should be a fair deal eh?

Look forward to seeing them in show rooms soon.

It is also true that the Honda Accord V6 is one of the dullest looking cars ever made. Features and price seem to be the winner over style...worked for the Ford Model T, otherwise we'd still be riding horses I guess!?!

Yeah it is quite sad that "we" Aussie seem to be bland and uninspired by innovative and sexy looking cars.

My Megane with the big butt is a great looker in the flesh and really distinctive. I love looking at it and I notice people having a sticky beek wondering what it is.

Hopefully Renault Oz will sell more Renault which may lead to more "exciting" looking models on our shores in teh future?

I hope the wizz-bang ZOE concept comes to fruition. Australia is a VERY conservative market...our consumption of blandness makes the 'dowdy old Poms' we (playfully) poke fun at look like a pack of Italian fashionista in comparison, IMO.

    Ain't that the truth?

I still want to know if the Victorian registered Vel Satis that was here back in 2003ish went to another country or is sitting here in Australia somewhere?
