The fuel flap is the weakest part of the Scenic 1 sadly.

If I am after something that's hard to find I just send a message to anyone on eBay flogging parts off. I got an accelerator cable for mine that way a few years back. Just ask if they have more bits going.

Most Scenics eventually break this flap. I replaced one for a friend recently. New part, colour matched spray can and clear over the top . Cut back - looks fine. Have to jack up rear wheel, take off inside cover to gain access, undo flap bolts and replace .

That's excellent. What sort of cost for the part.

The paint, what original colour was it?

I think it was about $70 dollars from the dealer.(could be wrong). The colour was that dark greeny blue metallic. In melbourne there are a no of automotive paint sellers who will mix a can to match a sample . Take the old filler cap in for matching. I imagine in Perth there would be somebody able to do that.

It's that old chestnut of, if it has the correct letters, it doesn't matter if they are slightly jumbled our brains recognise what was intended.

I agree wholeheartedly! Apart from speling and gramer beeing a lost art here in Orstrilia, the most important thing is to get all the letters of a word together, so that by a simple process of Cryptic Crossword Solution, anyone with an I.Q. over one hundred and thirty can determine the correct word!

Mind you, if you like a drink, as some of us do, there's a strong possibility you could end up using "Random Jargon" which is basically human speech encrypted to AES and instantly recognisable by just about anyone!

    Love your work!
