    Hi guys,

I'm new here..I'm from Malaysia. Have a 78' 12TS with me running the original 1289cc engine..Parts are hard to come by here..for starters, was wondering if there are any other compatible oil filters which would fit the R12..

I know crossland make one and I think Wesfil do too.
Here is the website for the Purflux one you have on the car now.
Another brand worth looking out for would be QH.
There are always plenty of listings on eBay for Renault filters.

French Connection here in Australia, a forum sponsor sell them if you can't find them in Malaysia.

    Default R12 Oil Filters

    Hi jt2626

I use MANN filters. The part number is W77.

I got mine from the Sydney Filter Company.
I had about 30 oil filters frieghted to me.
Worked out to about AU$12/filter including frieght.
I got sick of paying top dollar for oil filters and some times had a few problems buying them locally here in Tasmania

We have them on the shelf at $16.50 each, proper purflex ones.
When buying filters, stick with known Euro brands as the guys here mention.
I know for a fact that the local filters are failing on most Euro cars.

    Hi Dave,

do you still do slabs of cheap filters.... It sure is handy buying a slab when CX's, BX's, Xantias and even XM deisels all use the same filter

Had heard a few years ago the Ryco ones, when they were much larger than the Purflux ones caused oil pressure problems in Renault engines

all engines, 'cept the ones that need to crank and crank and crank.......

convinced that they destroyed my old Triumph 2000 - starvation of bearings at the end of the gallery run.

    cheers,
