    Default R12 Mechanic Sydney

Hi, was just wondering if anyone could put me in contact with some mechanics around Sydney who can be trusted to work on Renault 12s.

    Many thanks,

    I agree.

I used to take the 12 to Brookvale 10 years ago.....great to deal with in my experience.

It is a crying shame that Frank is moving on to greener pastures. He has been a bastion of Renault repair. Whilst always busy, he always had time to discuss your car problems, was always polite (toujours la politesse), was a hard worker and did not overcharge.

I'm sure we all wish you every success in your new endeavour, Frank, and we all wish that should you ever change your mind about the new place, you will have a queue a mile long at your door.

Maybe when he said this new job will give him time to do the things he likes, that meant helping us with our old renaults on his days off.

Exactly!, and I'll be at the front of the queue .. he is a true enthusiast, master mechanic and a gentleman.

Ps, just got off the phone with Frank, he is still trading this week, and possibly for another, so get in there quick if you need him to do anything.

If you're out west, I can recommend European Auto Care, Batt St, Penrith.
    Old skool mechanics.

I haven't tried this one, but he comes with recommendations from another owner of old Renaults:

    Frenchtech Automotive
    681 Warringah Road
    Forestville
    Ph 9453 1644

    also does Peugeot and Citroen

There used to be a Renault mechanic in a street very close to Warringah Mall. Close to where the Renault dealer was. I remember when I bought my R12 and went over there the guy was pretty friendly. I recall he had a brown R20 that was a very bad parts car in the front. I'm pretty sure that place is no longer there now.

I think you'll find they are more Citroen oriented

    It is still there.
A fellow called Andrew bought the shop, and had no regard for french cars as he was a pishhhhhhhhhhh nissan dude.
Dont take your french car there what ever you do.

Frank, the nice guy you refer to, then opened up the shop that he is now closing.

Yes they are, but they have owned the odd Renault themselves and there are a couple of R12 wrecks lying in their yard, well..... the last time I was there anyway!
I've taken my Fuego there in the past and was happy with their service.
My Dad still takes his Renaults there!

My niece even took her Ford Meteor there once, but it didn't help, she still killed it!
    Cheers Renomad

I'm glad you were happy with their service...

Most (experienced) mechanics should be able to fettle with a 12 though. Their strength is in their simplicity.
