    First competition RS Clio?

Spotted at Collingrove Hillclimb today, black virtually unwrapped (new WS rego. plate) RS Clio (Series 2).

Clocking times of just over nine seconds (like 9.03) to the control tower, then completing the climb in just over 40 seconds (like 40.34). Compared to the 4WD Lancers, Subies and other 4WD stuff (some stockish, others modded) it was about 1.5ish seconds slower. Should be intresting to see how it develops over time.

We've had a new member join the club with a series one Clio Sport and had a go in a motorkana last week end, it was his first attempt and he wasn't actually competing, he just went out for a practice and did a time in the 24 second bracket which is pretty good considering the fastest special ( a Vic championship winner) was doing 19 seconds so it should be interesting to watch the Clio's evolve over the years.

RS is my short hand for Renault Sport, the developers of the sporting versions of the Renault range like the Clio, Spider etc.

The hot version of the Clio sold here should really be titled the Renault Sport Clio, like a HSV Commodore is a HSV not a Holden. But the hot Clio seems to be called all sorts of different things like Renault Clio Sport. Renault Sport, to me anyway, doesn't really have an identity like the Gordini or Alpine versions of old (accepting that Alpine was both a manufacturer as well as a sporty Renault model, like the 5 Alpine.)
