Clarkson really is a useless bugger at times. He forgets that humour should enhance the article, not bloody replace it.

Out of two pages, the first one and a half pages are drivel about speed limits with nary a mention of the clio. Finally when he does get to the clio, he spends most of that waffling on about its interior and weight, with only a small mention that it's fun to drive. "Fun to drive" yes that sounds like the type of detailed review one tends to get from other car review sources such as "Girl Torque" etc.
    Take the long way home....

    Amen to that!
I think we can now classify Jeremy as an entertainer & not a car reviewer...

Depends on your definition of a review. As for entertainment I think he's great. Either way he makes a sh*t load of money from whatever you want to call it.

I get the feeling he gets paid by the word his articles follow the same pattern, 75% about himself or venting about non related issue, foreigners/ family and to finnish his subjective spiel on the vehicle in question. Woe betide any that is not designed around his 6'5"frame. No national stereotype will be overlooked when seeking puns, UK residents excluded, of course, no need to offend the customer .
The point about the continuous bloat (130kg for clio) that occurs with each model update is tragic in this high tech world, must be a better way.

how big is the new clio? the upcoming 207 is near 306 proportions, and so will weigh in significantly heavier than the 206 it replaces, and so will probably be on par with the clio III
    Then - 2001 206 Gti
    Now - 2000 306 Gti6
    Now - 1974 GS 1220 Club

I agree, he must dictate those "articles" in about 5 minutes, after driving the car for 5 minutes (if it cannot turn rubber into smoke while sideways on a track).

Yes it seems that every new car gains 100kg+ over its predecessor - the new Commodore will apparently add 230kg but then again the VT was 175kg heavier than the VS.
