Default R8 Gordini Yellow Paint Code

    Hi,

I'm looking for the paint code for the yellow colour for a Gordini (lookalike) that is currently under restoration. I Understand in Europe the cars used a coluor known as 'Belgium Racing Yellow' but I have been informed that locally built cars may of used a coluor called 'daffodil'. Would any kind person please be able to shed light on this and perhaps supply me with a paint code / advice?

    many Thanks

The Euro 8S was painted in Yellow 386, any decent paint shop should have a mixing code for the Renault paint reference.

The Australian Daffodil Yellow is Dulux paint code 566.11457

The 386 yellow is much brighter than the Daffodil Yellow.

    Thanks Guys,

I think Daffodil Yellow is the way to go. I'm assuming that Gordini 8's were locally assembled and sported the Daffodil colour. Is this the yellow that was very popular with the 1.4 and the Virage? - If so that's a good thing - bright without being "in your face "

    Cheers for the New Year

The 8G 1300's were indeed locally assembled, the earlier batches being two shades of blue, the later batches Daffodil Yellow. Daffodil was also used on 10's and 10S's, and is the colour on the 10S brochure pic as in your avatar. It is a different yellow the later (1973/74) Sungold 566.15158 and Bright or Aztec Yellow 566.30379 on the 12 1.4's and Virages.
