Interesting RS article, and I didn't realise until I read later on that the Citroen C4's optional sunroof was non-opening!

Shame the interior is so grey. Talk about bland.

Yes, strange that, the dynamique has a pattern around the heater controls/stereo etc - not sure why they've gone boring grey!

It is the main reason I could never buy a current Renault, they are just so god dam boring inside. I don't care how good they are to drive, when you have to sit there and look at all that grey plastic.

hmm, well maybe some models are like that (Clio?) but no one has made that comment with our Megane II Dynamique, in fact quite the opposite. I seem to recall sitting in a Peugeot 206 when they were first out, and being amazed at the vast sea of grey plastic all around..

I can understand the comment looking at that RS pic, without the pattern on the centre console it does look really plain - I can't recall the earlier RS's looking like that...

The 206 doesn't have grey plastic, it has black plastic. IMO an all black interior is miles ahead of an all grey one. Throw in some silver/chrome/carbon fibre/woodgrain and it lifts even more. Then add different colour alcantara/leather trim and you really have something worth siting in.

OK, one mans grey is another mans black.

You have described the interior of our Megane Dynamique LXR perfectly. Highlights of silver, metal finish, black leather seats and door inserts, honeycomb print patterned centre console (as in the picture I attached earlier) and amber control backlighting. I suspect the RS has a similar interior, but the picture above doesn't do it justice, is a new trim style not seen before, or standard publicity photo with an interior configuration not available in Australia.

I'm not going to argue subjective points on interior colour with you, suffice to say if it is the sole reason for buying/not buying a car as you state, then we clearly have different ideas about what is really important when evaluating a vehicle.

Well my idea of black is THIS, while my idea of grey is THIS. MY Coupe interior is all black and my ex-GTi was black with splashes of grey alcantara on the seats, doors, and glovebox. No point buying a car that has a crap interior, because you are going to be seeing more of it than the outside.

Of the current crop of Renaults that i've seen the interior is always grey, which however practical and conservative, just doesn't appeal to me.
