    Icon5 '95 LAGUNA V6 Auto Transmission selonoid

    Hi fellow frogers,
I need to replace the auto transmission selonoid pack in my Laguna. Renault Australia asking approx. $1300.00. Does anyone know other places where I could buy it cheaper eg. Europe, Singapore?
    Any advice much appreciated.

    Cheers Greg

    Greg,
    Firstly, Welcome to aussiefrogs
Must be the life position for Lagunas at the moment, all of the auto boxes seem to have died all at once.
My first suggestion is find an auto-elec you can trust, or someone who comes highly recommended by the WA motoring club or something. Have him remove the solenoid pack and test which part has given up. This then should be able to be replaced individually.
Renault UK have been helpful in the past from what I have heard.
    Good luck.

    Hi Chris,
Thank you for your replay. I have been advise by the transmission specialist who did many of them that you have to replaced the whole pack ( in my case selonoid 3 showing as faulty on the computer), becouse they are on the same relay? Renault confirming that. I just ordered one from UK for $500 including postage. If anyone is interested, the business is: Sussex Auto Transmission, tel. 0011-44-1323848886
    Email: [email protected]
They are genuine parts (I hope)

    Cheers Greg

What was the symptoms that the solenoid pack needed replacing ? as i wonder if its the same problem as mine , at 80-95 kmh , 3rd and 4th keeps changing back and forth until you get down to 70 kmh again. and the cycle starts again.

    thanks Alden

    Hi Greg,
    Good work.
Is the Laguna's transmission an AD4?
If it is or in any case keep the old ones. I've replaced (soldered in) a good solanoid into a faulty set.
The dealers must be aut of their trees to charge $1000+.
