    Default Fuego Timing Belt.

    Hello To All,
I just had some work done on the head of my newest Fuego, I bought the gasket set from Caravelle and a timing belt Ken asked me if I wanted the belt with the rounded teeth or the square teeth I did'nt know what was on the car so finished up with square teeth, of course when I got home I found the old belt had rounded teeth. Does it matter if I use the square in place of the rounded?
    Thanks John Ely.

Yes it does matter. Do not under any circumstances use a square tooth belt on a car fitted with round tooth timing gears!!

To do so will only cause you more problems as the belt with likely jump the teeth causing the pistons to touch and bend the valves.

I'm sure Ken @ Caravelle will gladly exchange the belt, providing it hasn't been fitted to the car or otherwise damaged.

    Hi,
Thanks for the info. I will change the belt, I had a closer look at the camshaft gear on this car and one of the other cars that I have and I could see the difference between the teeth.
    Thanks John Ely.
