Default R17G Rear calipers compatible with?

    Calling all brake experts ...

I have a slightly crushed right hand rear brake caliper with broken internal automatic adjuster spring and binding piston - sort of working but in sad shape.

Since 17G's are thin on the ground, just wondering if rear caliper interchanges with anything else. Alan Moore suggested a Fiat 124 might be a good prospect ... any other ideas?

I had heard subaru leone or some model subaru from that era had a very similar caliper ...

I think you may have to go to some sort of "pick a part" "walk in wreckers" with the 17 TS/G Caliper and do some detective work. I have heard of people coming close to rear disc conversions over the R17TS/G alternative, have yet to see it totally done yet, I suppose it would just be the engineering work.

Talking of engineering, what a bits and pieces car.....

I'm reasonably certain that the Lancia HPE runs exactly the same rear caliper...

There were quite a few sold, so an Italian wrecker should have them to compare..

Thanks, Richard. The Fiat/Lancia connection seems promising.

    Cheers
