    Default Aftermarket ICE installations

Anyone (Megane owners particularly) installed any additional in-car entertainment systems, say CD changer, DVD system etc and managed to use the central display and column stack to control the changer etc?

To keep your display control you need a adaptor , have a look at this site

    http://www.caraudiodirect.com/index.php

I am about to order one so i can upgrade the system in the Megane Cup, also might be worth a look on , www.meganesport.net, they had a post about upgrades etc.

do you think it might be possible to order the DVD changer and rear headrest screens installed in the Espace as an option to have it installed in the Megane?

i'm toying with asking the Renault dealership to check if they can order them in as parts and then install it.

That would be a big ask as it wouldn't be something normally made available Down Under. I doubt any of the dealers here would have experience fitting it, but if you come up with the part number and they can find it in their catalogue, then you should be able to get it.

i know it would be a big ask...which is why i was contemplating asking them to order a wiring guide for the espace so that they can see what needs to be hooked up.

the main guy at City Automobiles Service centre in Melbourne went to Renault in France for training so that he can train the local guys at the centre. I have faith in him pulling it off! but it's a risk nevertheless.

    thanks for the link Craig.

also found this from a Meganesport link >>> http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/product_...nomy_id=25-132

Impressive that Pioneer released a high end speaker set for Renault!

Might be very tricky with multiplex wiring - I would say an aftermarket system would work out cheaper - I'm sure a trimmer could fit the screens into the existing headrests...

Does anyone know somewhere to buy them here or off the net?

spoke to parts at Renault. To order in a 4 stack in-dash CD player as a spare to upgrade costs $1300!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a VDO head unit for those wondering.

guy i spoke to said if i have the part number they can order in the Espace dvd changer and screens but i'm wondering like he said, how much it would cost if the 4 CD in-dash player is $1300!!!!

so much for using the central display!

anyone upgraded their Megane ICE and would like to sell their headunit?

try these guys for the adaptor - http://www.connects2.com/c2products.asp

I've finally got my JL audio splits going in today. Upped the size to 6.5" too. Looking forward to the sound difference.

Head unit is next on my list, but I want to see how much better this is first.

Dave dont forget to get some pics .... always nice to see what others have done.

So i guess you had to cut the plastic water cover that keeps water of the back of the speaker ? how did you go on depth?

I see that seems to be a problem.

after reading the megane II owner's club site, i have decided i'm going to change the head unit & speakers and install a changer & amp. this means i will only get use of the column stalk, not the display.

unless i can find someone who would part cheaply with their in-dash cd stacker after changing the head unit. then i'll just change speakers and hook up an amp.
