R25 V6's in Aus

Hi All,

I am back after a long while. I am the guy in Canberra who's R25 V6 burnt from a fuel leak near the engine manifold. I still miss my V6 and wish I had another one!!!!

Does anyone know how many Phase I and Phase II (still left after the original 14 Baccaras and Monaco's were sold in Vic)? R25V6's there are in Australia?

Since my car has perished, I know of only 2 Phase I's. One in SA and one in Vic.

Can anybody help, is anyone selling?

Regards

LukeCass

PS - The R25 Register website will DEFINATELY be up an running by the end of April!!
Cheers - Luke

Hi Luke - sorry to hear about the fire. Do you still have the 4cyl auto? When I went to Perth last Nov a nice looking burgundy v6 witha Baccarra badge passed me on the expressway. He was over the speedlimit so I did'nt catch him!
I have 2 manual 4cyl R25's

Hi Matt/Chris

Yes I still have a 1988 GTX with sand leather - which I do love, but it is just not the same as the V6 was - as Matt will appreciate!

The GTX has just clocked 300K and seems to be going strong - touch wood.

Whatever happened to the www.driverenault.co.uk website??
I think it has been out of action for some time. Do you know anything about that luke? How is your automatic Renault 25?

Hi Daniel

I have emailed John Foley who runs the site but have not yet had a reply. My R25 Register website should definately be up and running by April/May.
Did you mention that you now have an R25? I hear that one in Sydney is in good nic for $2,995. It even has a sunroof and a re-built auto, with low kms. Very good buy.

Talk soon

Luke

Just as an aside, anybody know how many (if any) of the 25 Versailles were sold in AUS. This was the Series 2 25 but the 4 cylinder version being the entry level model under the Monaco and Baccara.

I know the unsold 25V6's were sent to NZ, just wondering if the unsold 4cyl cars went there too.

Hi

I have not heard mention of the 4 cylinder Versailles before. I found out about the V6 R25's from a guy that used to work for Renault Australia. He did not mention the four cylinder variant! This has opened up a can of worms for me.

I have seen cars in newspapers advertised at 1988 and 1989 GTX's. They have all turned out to be the Phase I GTX's and not the phase II's. Even the add where I bouight my R25 said it was a 1989 model!! It is actually a Jan 1988. The Phase 2 came in in July 1988! It had the new slant eye front and rear end treatment to the lights and spoiler etc.

If the Versailles did sell here, what was the list price? Did it come as a manual?

I, along with Simon, await a reply.

regards

My theory is that the 25 Versailles was a stillborn model. There is nothing in any of the price lists around that time, and given that Boulogne Motors were only about for about 10 months, not a lot of potential for any to be sold. Perhaps the Versailles badges are the only things that exist of them outside of the Boulogne Motors Business Plan.....
