    Default R4 in desert tip

Hi there - haven't stopped by for a while as I was away in areas even without FM radio.. ...but found something I thought being worth passing on in a property tip near Tibooburra (NW corner of NSW - not far from the Simpson desert) - see attached immage
    cheers

What tales that car could tell I'm sure..

I used to work in the WA wheatbelt and saw heaps of old
cars lying around in farm tips. Nothing that really interested
me but I'm sure would move some enthusiasts to tears.

    Cheers,

R4's go everywhere, that pic reminds me of an outback dunny in Andamooka. The roof of the dunny was that of an R4 gas axed at the pillars. Must dig out that pic…..

Back to showroom condition? Now why would you want to spoil that lovely weathered patina.

can't see if the engine is still in there but those things were so indestructible i bet it would start if it was

Hmmmm....I put the hood back on before I took the picture - the engine is still in there but someone found better use for the oil cap. Quite some time ago judging on the rust inside the block...
Saying that - the R4 motor I recently restored had one piston rusted in...lots of WD40, half an hour on the baking tray at 200 degrees (reminds me of the dishwasher add... ) and a good whack with a solid piece of soft wood sorted that one out no worries

Hope to find some time soon to finish my first R4.

    so long

I'd be taking it to Collier's for an appraisal Daniel
