    Default Nut size?

Thought that might get your attention.

Anyone know offhand the size of the large nut at the end of the steering rack on a R17? Ie the one next to the rubber bellows where the eyelet screws in for the steering arm.
My adjustable does not fit and I don't want to buy the wrong size (or several sizes).

I always used a big shifter for that. If you can't get a size here, which would surprise me, try measuring it with callipers,

I used a 15" shifter on mine. I think it was 36mm, but don't quote me. Yes, I know that's of no use.

Edit: this SHOULD be of use. I just measured my spare rack in the shed with a vernier and it is 36.3mm across flats. I assume this is meant to be 36mm. That's an R12 rack, but it's the same I think.

    Craig,
ARe you going to get a spanner or buy a socket. I bought a 1/2 drive 36mm socket from a place out at Rocklea. I didn't want to have to go buy a 3/4 drive set for one socket. Let me know if you want one and I will pick you up one and get it to you.
