    Default RS Megane CC

I read rumours about this , but to see living proof....lets hope it's not the factory workers fooling us but I am all excited.

I also recall reading rumours of a RS Megane Sedan, anyone heard, seen, know anything?

Well, it would make sense that it could be done for both the CC & the Sedan.

I would imagine in the CC example they might need to check that the thing doesn't turn into a marshmallow with the extra power, but I'd imagine the Sedan would be OK

I'd like to see a shot from the back - easy enough to change the front bumper & wheels, but the rear bumper would be different on hatch/CC/Sedan, so to get the twin exhausts would require further mods.

Maybe the RS CC pic was a "proof of concept"

Have to see if Peugeot reacts ... the CC with the 180 engine is OK (10sec hundreds), but it's no speedster (CC is too heavy) ... if this is for real I can see it robbing sales from Peugeot for SURE !!

    Bleagh!

Looks like fitting a body kit to a Megane CC is about as successfull as doing the same with a Fuego - manages to make the clean original design look cheap and tacky...

Of course, thats my own opinion. I'm sure plenty of others would love it

Well I certainly can't make much sense of it...but i did a quick google search for 'language translators". The original article appears to be from Norway. But when i convert it to English - the grammar is all weird and mixed up! So good luck, but here's the 'translated' version!

EDIT: Couldn't actually post the 'translated' version to the site. So just try to go to the link below, and chuck in the URL above to translate it...

And here's the 'translator' website i used...

    See you!

XTC206 - the article you are referring to is a review of the Megane CC 2.0 Turbo - which is the 165bhp engine that is in the Espace and also introduced in the Laguna II and now the Scenic II.

I anticipate the RS CC to have 225bhp engine...handling would be interesting. Also note from the picture all the RS Clio, which suggests its in Dieppe plant.

So a 2ltr Megane CC Turbo makes less power then a NA GTi180 engine ??? Or is only 1.6ltr ?

It is a 2.0L and it does put out less than a Pug 180. You have to remember that the turbo engine is for increased power while being more fuel efficient for daily driveability over outright performance. It's merely to extract more power compared to the std atmo 2.0L.

It's also a low pressure turbo, unlike the twin spool one in the RS version.
It's the same engine that's in the RS, just not as highly tuned.

That must sux for insurance purposes ...

"Sorry sir that's a 50% increase in your premium for the Turbo"
"But it's a low pressure one designed to increase efficency and decrease the greenhouse effect"
"To bad Charlie you must be a racer boy and will get charged appropiately ... "

the 307 doesnt rate very high with the French it seems according to that site. Renault is way out in Front on that little online poll.
Its great to see such an active French group. When u travel to France you feel at times the french dont car about cars much but it seems some do. Maybe thats just Paris....
