Icon9 Selling my Renault clio sport.

I have been trying to sell my clio sport sport for while but I have only had 1 phone call and they never rang again. I have advertised online and in newspapers. Is $26,000 a resonable price for a 2003 model?

you might need to go lower with that mileage, it's high for a one yr old car.

Nice car .. fair price, BUT as most people have found Frog cars are not in most peoples scope when buying a car (no sitting lion or blue oval) .. they stay clear cause of FUD ... Dropping the price probably won't attract too many more (unless it's REALLY dropped), just have to hang-out a bit longer.

I want a rear wheel drive car. The depreciation is dissapointing and I don't want another year of it.

Its pretty bad it has gone down in value the same amount as some I know who just sold their astra except their astra was 4 years old and had over 100,000km.

the depreciation is going to be a problem with any non ford, holden, toyota corolla/camry and some of the mitsubishis.

most european cars will suffer depreciation and you need to decide why you want a particular make/model car and decide to stick with it for a decent amount of time. as soon as you drive it out of the dealership, 20% down already.

but you have to look at the mileage together with the age, the fact it's a 2003 release alone wouldn't help you get a higher price. it will take you some time to sell it, so hang in there or trade it in. have u tried putting it on the trading post etc?

selling a 1 year old car is always going to be a big depreciation hit.

look at the 2001 model clio's they are still fetching 23-25k which for a nearly 4 year old car isn't nearly as big a kick in the nuts as what your going to get selling it just after one year.

atleast keeping it for 2 years you can kinda justify the 10k loss you will be getting. but not after 12months.

    which RWD specifically?

Im getting a supra when I sell my clio. Its annoying because it took me ages to find a good unmodified supra with the big 4 piston brakes but now that I found one I am having trouble seeling the clio.

You probably have to really really drop your price. Even to the point of sellingit to a dealer for eg... 1 year old car is huge on losing money, especially the RS Clio. Actaully I think its the most unwise time to sell a car... but I've started to rediscover Renault's so called "We Create Service" at waitara, so thankfully I am not forced into your position... good luck though.
Un-modded Supra is indeed a rare find! Its like finding a stock Rex.

If not, maybe go and talk to a Renault dealer. Dpends if off loading the car quickly is more important or fair price.

XTC206: Interestingly, Mercedes Benz has made a car that has 7 forward speeds, AND 2 reverse speeds... the first cars to have it are teh new SLs. Even the 10 speed semi i drove only had 1 reverse gear!!

EEEK, ahhh well. I'm surprised none of those "we want your car" places have called you. When my friend was selling the DC2 Type R, the only places that called about the ad were those kind of places.

Guess you will just have to keep on trying, but continue to lower your car's price is not going to be good, people won't buy it. So hopefully someone pick it up for 25ish.

I'd suggest using the "reputable" Print media more than the net or anything else...

i.e. the big News Papers, SMH drive is what i used in Syd, it was HEAPS better for selling than the tradin post & on-line places.

    Good luck mate!
(even though i think you're crazy for sellin!)

    PS Depreciation?
we had a ca-rolla... bought for 22k, sold for 19.5 3 years old!!!
Cant be a rolla for resale!
