    Default Scorpion vs Devil?

    Hey

Does anyone know how these two brands of exhausts compare performance wise on a 172? I'm assuming both cat back systems.

I've heard that the devil has registered gains of as much as 11kw at the wheels. This sounds a little much and I just wanted to confirm.

    Thanks

I'd reckon the performance gain for both will be measured in decibels, not kw.....

    Slim,

I think thats's the point Matt's trying to make, any "technical" data isnt really going to be valid... It's more than likely advertising/marketing rubbish tipped favourably in the direction of their product.

I know a few RSC's have done exhaust mods, mainly due to appearance i think... They didnt really research the products, they just went for a good brand i.e. Remus etc...

    Let's put it this way.

Renault have just launched a new model called the RS Clio 182. It liberates the extra 7 odd kW mainly through a new exhaust, cat and headers. So I doubt that a rear muffler box and cat back system in isolation would give a gain any greater than that, and certainly unlikely to be in the order of an 11kW gain.

you will want both an intake and an exhaust to make a good amount of gain. although either one would give you a bit. I'd say Scorpion. Only reason, they're German. go and have a look at their web site.

I think, the noise the car makes is a big factor in driving. And there for I don't disagree increased noise makes the purchase look stupid. As long as the increased noise is good ofcourse, try an over sized exhaust then its notsomething I'd endorse.

And since you live in Melb, pay qsz a visit. www.qsz.com.au

they sell Scorpion exhausts, and i think they may have a special on them at the moment 470 bucks for a cat back? Anyway, they seem to know their stuff, after all they do have for sale an original Audi 80/90 DTM car. And they claim to be able to build it back with AUDI works parts its 500BHP form... hehe
