Default Renault 12 Wagon...Or is it?

I was in Prague a few weeks ago and came across this 'Dacia 1310'.

Suspiciously looked like a re-badged 12 to me!

Plenty of R12's and Dacia's in the Czech Republic anyway, although didn't see one R16 - which was the family's beloved car for many years and the one I learned to drive in.

It was amazing to see such things as Fiat 850's, Skodas and Wartburgs - apparantly being used as everyday cars. Not like that in the UK - a 1986 model would be considered to be ancient and just about ready for the scrapper!

Correct, it is basically re-badged 12. Dacia built the 12 under licence from Renault, and have restyled it over the years. Dacia never built the 16 though.

It appears that wiper rubber theft is still prevalent in Romania and one has to remove them.

I saw a dacia utility on one of the greek islands when i was there a couple of years back. The guy had a live goat tied up in the back of it, pretty funny.

I saw a Dacia utility in Airport West when I was there a couple of months back. The guy had at least 160 horses behind that one......

I want to know why a live goat tied on to the back of a ute is "pretty funny" and why it deserves a dancing banana?

That's the same front that was on our ute when we got it. It's a Dacia 1310 4x4 pick-up, 1984 model and has the same front as the car pictured. I removed all the Rumanian plastic and fitted Aussie R12 lights and grille, I've tried to make it look like a Renault ute, I still have the Dacia front if someone wants to seriously uglyfy a 12.
