    Icon10 182??

Any idea if the 182 will be coming to Australia?

Is it true that the 172 are out of 2004 stock?

Of course the 182 is coming to Australia.. the 172 isnt made anymore as the Clio II Phase 1 and 2 Sports had 172, and the Phase 3 Sport has 182. There really is no choice as the Phase 3 is the current car. Its just a matter of time for using up existing stock and the time to ship the new model to Oz.

The first models are coming in November - we actually pre-ordered one but decided to be impatient and get a 172 instead...All this talk of them not coming etc is a load of bollocks coming from dealers trying to get rid of older models. It happens every year without fail. Whenever buying a new car, it's much easier to say "give me the straight facts or I'll go elsewhere" - it usually works for me

Pretty much We are just going to get a powerchip and an exhaust, and maybe some new swaybars and it'll be similar to a 182 besides the narrower track. Although, the dealer said the 182 may not have Xenon lights, which is weird...

The Clio 182 and Megane RS will be launched at the Sydney Motor Show in October. Dealers may/may not receive stock by EOY.

I had the dilemma of waiting for a 182 or getting a 172 and getting it up to speed of the 182. Would have gone a used 172 though.

Would be interested to see a comparison of specs of the 172 to the 182.

    Default 182 V 172

There has been lost of discussion about the 172V182 in the English Renault Sport site.
From the official Renault literature the main differences are
    Exhaust , and system "try Y"(182) V 4 into 1(172)
    Minor inlet manifolt changes.
the torque out put is the same just 250 rpm lower.
and taller gearing ( negating the 10 hp gain)
No spare wheel but twin pipes at the center under the rear bumper.
different wheels (uglier than the 172 )
and as for the trim there was no mention.
After all this the only real advantage I see is thats its new.
I rather like the anonymity of the 172.
