    Default Lowered Fuego springs

    Jo,

I havenít found anyone in Aust with lowered Fuego springs available as a standard item Ė yet, but I believe you can get them custom made.

How the maker would get the heights and tensions right without specs available is beyond me though.

You can also have your standard springs ďresetĒ, but I donít know how thatís done either.

The only listing I have found anywhere for Fuego springs (from a reputable manufacturer) is SPAX in the UK.

    Spax springs
    Manufacturer : Spax
    Category : Spax Springs
    Sub-category : Spax Springs - Renault
    Application : Fuego ; 80-85 ; -35mm
    Product Code: SPX-S031025
    Details : See note 1
    Price: £134.99
    Delivery: £14.10

Now, ₤134.99 ($338AUST) seems pretty pricey for one spring (or even 2), so Iím guessing that this is for a full set, 35mm lower than standard. Still waiting for confirmation from SPAX.

If you find anything else, let me know please Ė Iím after some aswell.

    Default Specs

King springs would be great - if you have the specs.

I phoned them, and they didnt seem real interested in doing anything out of the ordinary - especially as I dont have specs.

Physical size is easy, but what is the spring rate needed for a Fuego?

If anyone has the specs, I would love to get them and try again.

Don't go any firmer than the standard spring rate.

FWIW I would just get a set of standard springs reset.

Many spring works can do this for a fairly piddly amount of money.

It's not exact but basically just use a 2-1 ratio.

i.e - If you want the front to be lowered by 1 inch, get the spring reset 2 inches shorter....

I wouldn't recommend going anymore than 1.5 inches below the standard specs (as quoted by the factory) as you will start running out of compression travel...not great

Also, what dampers are you using?

Are they suitable for the lowered springs? Or is the spring base adjustable?
