    Default Salv Sacco

    Hi All

Has anyone had any dealings with this company?

Im gathering up bits for my new race engine for the Dauphine. Im using a R16ts engine, all the usual modifications:
    11:1 comp
    modified cam
    extractors
    twin 45 side drafts
    porting
    etc etc

These guys can supply me a kit good for about 155hp (according to them) for about NZ$2,100. Kit includes pistons, rings, pins, big valves (8), valve springs, valve guides, valve retainers & collets and a cam.

    What do you think?

I've never dealt with him or his company personally, but all I've heard about him has been good!

The 155bhp claim doesn't seem overblown as long as all the mods he is selling are not standard bits. Does the kit need the tougher conrods? Probably do a comparison with the Mecaparts prices, as that package price doesn't seem too bad either. What size engine is the kit?

The pistons are 78mm which makes 1604cc

Yes std rods, do you think they are a weak point?

    Pistons are forged

    Valves are thin stemmed

1605cc sounds like the 17TS/G type kit.

I've not had much experience with the alloy block motors, just that the 160bhp kit by Renault has stronger conrods. If Salv says the rods are OK though, I'd be happy with that. He seems to have had vast experience with all Renault motors.

Also that price with the forged pistons doesn't sound too bad either.
