Icon4 R10 Heater core hoses... which ones do I order?

Finally got around to taking out the old heater hose from the R10. Not a fun job at all, hence the reluctance to do it!!

So the question is do I need to order new hoses from meca parts (or another supplier) to go to the heater core? I have the long hose already that will go from the water pump then under the car... but when it goes to the heater core Inside under the dash it has bends that are specialised, and a normal hose will kink if I try make it work.

I bought the long straight hoses from engine to the front from Autopro. But they are a bit of an odd size and I took all they had left at our local store and it was just enough. I tried Supercheap but they never stocked that size. I didn't replace the curved ones etc under the dash. The originals hoses were completely blocked and I could not even rod them they were so clogged. The heater tap then leaked but I got it apart and put in a new O ring and sealed it back together. From memory with epoxy metal. The heater radiator was flushed ok. I cannot live without a heater in winter even in Qld.

Years ago when restoring the R8, I bought a box (reel) of the hose the right size from Spectrum rubber - (old rubber company back then). Although itís a bit of an effort, I ran it straight from the join at the engine all the way to the heater core inlet/outlet in one piece each. Nearly 30yrs later itís still going strong.

I actually have to buy some more for the project car as I gave the remainder away to a friend.

If you really want to buy it from Mecaparts, I believe it is numbers 8&9 on that list - diagram numbers.

They also have the long length (available as eaches) but youíd be freighting in rubber hose for no reason in my opinion.

I thought I'd used 3/4" hose from Repco or someone local about 10-12 years ago. I still have the original short lengths at the water pump end. I'll go and have a look at the front in the morning.

Around the heater core, make sure you use low profile hose clamps. Most standard clamps do not fit.
