    Default The Caravelle Exposed !!!

3 years ago, and a bit, a white Caravelle came into my life. They are not for me but it was a nice looking car. But it had a problem engine, and general mechanicals were not good.

I then heard that a guy I knew had bought it, and had started restoring it. When it was taken apart it was found to be in need of a good bit of body work, and Robin had a very good tin man doing the work. On seeing it under reconstruction for the first time, a lot was being sorted, and the tin man was very competent. I have kept in with the project ever since. The real telling point was when it came back from paint. It looked just AWESOME.

The project got slowed last year a bit. But then an injection of inspiration was given about 4 months ago, by a local show organiser. He told Robin that he wanted to see the Caravelle on the Celebration of the Motorcar show at the Cottesloe Civic Center. Robin asked If I could help, and we put a plan together, to get the car to be able to drive in and out of the show by itself.

The pictures tell the story of Robins meticulous work, and sending the car to the right people to get things done. The upholstery is extreme. The man did a fantastic job and Robin did the assembly and finishing of all the interior. The detail is fantastic.

Last weekend we did our job and put it on the show, with extremely good response. Well done Robin.

Lucky I sent all those hard to find bits, though I can’t even remember what I sent Robin three years ago .
