Default Thugs in work boots !!

    Hello folks

Woke up this very early morning to a thud outside on the street.

Couldn't see anyone around by the time I got out there.

This is what I discovered next morning.

Some low life has used my bonnet as a jumping castle.IMG20191109144717.jpgIMG20191109144425 (2).jpg

Car is insured for $1800 excess is $695

Effectively making the job irreparable without a great deal of cost

Ill have to sell the Gold 25 now to pay for the repairs !!!!

If I had a baseball bat Id use it on Ba!!!!!!!s!!!d

Commiserations, I now how you feel Don.
Many years ago when I was going to QUT some bastard decided it would be fun the walk across the bonnet and roof of my R16.
Never did get the dent out of the roof and like you it wasn't worth the insurance claim.

I can't tell what model car you have, I presume it a Renault as you've posted in the Renault forum, but the bonnet can be replaced can't it?
A second-hand bonnet from a wrecker and a quick blow-over to to match the paint if it's a different colour. Shouldn't set you back more than a couple of hundred but much less than the excess. Yes, you shouldn't have to pay for some other idiots idea of fun and it's a PITA but it shouldn't write-off the car.

    Cheers

What sort of a moron would do that? Hope you find him somehow and get him to pay for it!

That's nothing. Some years ago we had our Honda used as a bouncing castle and the roof was all collapsed in. Insurance fixed it by cutting the entire roof skin off and replacing it with a new skin and painting it. 4k job. This happened in daylight in the mall parking lot. Insurance said if it had been another dollar of damage they would have written off the car. They did something wrong though, because at speed you could hear a low woosh sound, probably the front edge was misaligned somehow.

There's an R25 parting-out on Gumtree at Tura Beach.
Bit of a hike from Newcastle but at least it's still in NSW.
