Default Old style centre badge for Mota-Lita steering wheel

Some times Im lucky. My Moto-Lita steering wheel is from an old Jaguar. I allready had a MOMO hub for my R8 so I made up an adapter in my lathe but was not sure what to do with the centre cap. I considered buying a new cap from Moto-Lita but dont think they look quite right.

Then I sumbled upon https://classicleatherfobs.co.uk who had a fob with a badge that looked exactly like one I had seen on a Moto-Lita wheel in an old R8 Gordini. Richard, the holder of the webshop confirmed that the badge in question was NOS from the old company Melsom Products who also used to make badges for Moto-Lita. He was most helpful and willing to sell me a pair of badges in ther original state.

Amazingly I was going through the exact same process this week with my moto-lita for my R16. I had the original plain polished steel one supplied, plus their after-market 70's black plastic Renault one, but I found the best solution was to remove the rubber centre from an R12 steering wheel with the 70's competition type logo's. It fitted straight in and to get it off it just requires a simple squeeze.
