Default Spotted R5 Turbo Sydney workshop. Whose is it ??

    Hi
Wandering along Parramatta Rd on Saturday looking at some things that might interest. In a (dodgey looking) workshop I just spotted the arse of, WTF, an R5 Turbo, as I walked out The hatch was up and there were tools in the back around the motor. But it was so tightly parked I could not get around it.

Must belong to somebody that is known here surely. The place was a Jap importer I think, so maybe from there. The place was having the floor resurfaced so was a mess with cars stacked everywhere and I moved on.

I know of two white ones, but no black ones. Sounds like a Japanese import. You didn’t happen to be at Edward Lee near Burwood did you?

Renault 5 Turbos were made to comply with Group 4 homologation this super rare and nothing short of mind blowing vehicle is a must own for any car enthusiast who followed group 4 world rally.
This vehicle due in early December will be full street registered and part of a very few in Australia.
Please call Sal or Luka to secure this rare vehicle before it arrives
    Motor Dealer Licence MD048738
I guess they did not sell it on spec before it arrived (last year ?). Could it be due to the listed price perhaps.

The photos they use on that site look like they’re taken directly from the jap auction site but strangely it’s LHD.
It’s a fair amount of drama to convert to RHD and get it complied. A member here went through it quite a while back.

My understanding was that cars over 30 years old could be registered at least in Qld and NSW with left hand drive so long as they are under 4.5 tonnes.

Nahhh I think it's from Spain because according to Heartbeat Cars it's a 'Manuel'....so that would explain the LHD.

    Hi Kevin,
FYI these cars were only ever made in LHD . Sunrise cars is the reincarnation of Edward Lees .

If the decals on the door are correct, and it is an R5 turbo 2, they were made in right hand drive.
