Default whatever happened to the R15 convertible in Vic?

Hi to the collective Renault brains trust. Does anyone know what happened to the R15 convertible that Dave Cavanaugh built back in the late 80s/early 90s? Spoke to Dave recently, but he lost track of it some time ago after it changed hands a couple of times.
    Cheers

Bryce I did here one story from the mid 90's. Someone in the Renault community said they saw it going the other way in Bendigo
Can't remember who told me but that's probably it's last sighting.

The vehicle was sold at a Shannons auction some years ago (late 1990's from memory) and apparently hasn't been seen since. The previous owner had the car re-trimmed, which is when the tonneau cover was fitted just before the car was sold at the auction.

All trails seem to lead to 20 years since its been seen.

If anybody happens across it - let them know I'm potentially interested. (I am looking to do an EV conversion on a Renault, and that car would be an excellent subject!).

How about an early Megane 1, or Megane 2 (with folding steel roof) cabrio instead? I'm thinking there would be a few cheapies now looking for love with a dysfunctional auto trans.

Whilst the 15 cabrio was really nicely converted and well braced, it was still relatively "soft" and creaky in the rigidity department. I'm thinking something more modern would be a better base to convert.

Hi Simon, am looking for something manual and has no CAN systems. Fuego is a possibility-but their plastics and intetiors have not stood up well.

Does it need to be that particular r15? There are a few 15s and 17s around... I disposed of quite a good r15 shell a while ago because I couldn’t find anybody to take it on.

A good bodied 17 could be of interest... but the 15 convertible was something uniquely different enough to entice me to do one last conversion.
