Default Renault 12 cars on Gumtree ! Look good

    Hi R12 lovers
I saw these on Gumtree. Both look good in the pics. I have fond memories of my 12s

PS I was not searching for them but Gumtree seems to be less specific now and tempts you with more offerings that have only one search word. Gets more hits I guess.

Love the matching seat covers and steering wheel, must add at least $2.50 to value

There was a Virage for sale in Melbourne which was listed for more than a year, it had been restored and the bloke was initially asking 20k for it. The price slowly dropped to 7k and sat there for a while until it was dropped again to 5k a week ago and marked "urgent." I checked the ad just now and it has sold in the last day or two. I wonder if it's someone we know?

White late pre-facelift R12 with tombstone seats, what more could you want (apart from a wagon).
But $4600 and $3500, are 12's worth that much these days.
Don't know why the owner of the green car decided to take two close-up photographs of the hideous seat covers. Would be a turn-off for any prospective buyer. Better to whip the covers off and show the condition of the seats unless they're cracked and split, which is likely on a around 44 year old vinyl seat.

Perhaps the owner of the green one is an old hippie?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Turns out our modern camera/internet technology serves the purpose of highlighting how crap people are at taking pictures. Maybe the car is worth the money but with a lazy ad on Gumtree you're just killing your chance. The dash doesn't appear destroyed so maybe the seats aren't too bad either?

The white automatic looks like a real timewarp as a third-hand car at one of those old faded glory car yards from the early 1980's. Liberal application of matt black spray, swapped front seats to get the ripped n' sagged one onto the passenger side, then pop the seat belt across so the rips are obscured from the prospective new owner - looking to do a quick trade with their Morris 1300 automatic......

It's also on eBay; current bid $2000, reserve not met.

If you do a Google street view of the sellers Gumtree listed location, you'll see a 2017 image of the car, looking very similar to the photos currently on Gumtree/eBay

The white one's boot badge "on the angle" tells me a lot about it's history & warning of what may be in store. And as mentioned the green "hippie machine" needs a sacrificial seat cover burning & fumigation if purchased I feel or else.
