Default 1400 virage starter motor and alternator

I am looking for a starter and alternator for a 1400 virage motor. Are they specific to this motor or are there other options. If anyone has anything let me know. I also need a bracket for the alternator

The alternator for the Virage is the same as the R12 TS as are the mounting brackets (there is one on the head and one one the timing chain housing).
The starter motor is the the same as the imported starters for the R12 (Paris-Rhone if memory serves).
The R12 Bosch starter will fit but as it's physically larger so it's a bit more of a pain to fit.
Not sure if the starters from other Sierra engines might fit (R10 etc.), the bellhousing might be different

    Cheers

Any starter from any sierra engine will fit. R8/10/12 so there's a huge range out there. Any R12 Alternator will fit. I've probably got some at work.

An Australian Bosch starter in a Virage will require the Australian Bosch engine mount bracket as well. A Virage would have the Euro spec bracket which precludes the fitting of the physically longer Australian Bosch starter. So in a nutshell, just grab a Paris-Rhone, preferably a D9E version, which has a touch extra horsepower - these were available as a replacement part rather than the factory fitted D8E variation.
