Default Reuault r12 carburetor accelerator pump

    Hi All,

Havent been on this site for many months but are now looking at a 1970, R12 I have had for years. Obviously few carburetor parts available but I am looking for what is called the Accelerator pump injector for the original Solex carburetor. It is the somewhat U shaped one on top of the carburetor body.

Hi Wolster. Do you have some model numbers off the solex for reference?

Since it's an early 12 it will be similar / same to late r10's if that helps your search.

Thanks for getting back. Sounds dumb but the aluminium tag is long gone and the only thing that is written on it is "Solex made in France" but it looks the same as the other R12 Carby we had years ago and what is illustrated in the workshop manuals. I do know where there are two more R 12s complete (but bent) but they are about 400kms away so I might just have to wait until I can get there.

    regards W

    Should be a Solex 32EISA.
You can actually buy new Chinese clones for less the $200 (delivered) off Ali Express, Ebay, etc. (or a new Solex but will cost an arm and a leg).
The Chinese clones probably aren't near the quality of the Solex but they're cheap and most R12's don't do huge mileages these days.

    Cheers

I have a new Chinese Weber clone and it cost $200 delivered off ebay and it certainly looks the goods. Also Weber parts are said to be interchangeable. Haven't tried it yet though.

You can also try Kent Town Autotune (I think) in Adelaide. They helped me with my old BMW (Solex) carby.

Else, I have a Weber downdraft manifold for your car you can have for peanuts here in Perth and bin the Solex.
