Default Renault 16 to sell at Castlemaine Swap

Alex Cooke is wanting to sell this '16. It's a later model automatic that some of you enthusiasts have looked at. IT'S TIME TO SELL !
He tells me he'll take it to the Castlemaine Swap on Sunday 7th April to find a buyer.
I am a Citroen enthusiast but this looks a great car. With only a low mileage and no rust, great engine ..... why aren't you lot scrambling for it.
I think he has $3500 on it but he is negotiable. God .... it must be worth that !
His phone number is 03 54734050. If he is carrying his mobile, you can reach him on 0487896198
    Go for it ! Michael

Give a Alex a call. I let him know that I was advertising via aussiefrogs but that's all I can do.

I have to say that someone got a bargain. This only reinforces the pitiful amount that Just Cars have been valuing R16s for seemingly decades now. I live for the day when they are 'discovered'

Quite correct. Superb cars and one of the great post-war original designs. A great car for 1/4 the cost of a reasonable paint job.....

Some of our affluent neighbours spend nearly that much on tyres and 5 times that on annual depreciation.

Being a Citroen enthusiast, it was difficult, not to fall in love with this interesting yellow R16. I was surprised with only 47000 miles on the clock and no rust that it didn't fetch a better price.
At a Rover Car Club meeting on Friday evening, we had a guest speaker, Bob Watson, author and motor sport consultant. He did the test driving for Holden in the 60's and 70's and rallying the Holdens as well. He did pretty well but when Holden cut back on the rallying, Bob went to work for Renault. For the next 10 min he was telling us how succesfull he was rallying the Renault 16 and I'm thinking, I should have bought this little gem!
You lot would know better than I, how good these cars are ...... I've got to stick to the Citroens .... alas
