    Default French Connection Rocks!

    Howdy all,

This is a 'post deal' thread, not set-up as a consequence of my order.

I've just arranged a second hand driveshaft + freight with Dave C and it's arrived boxed up nicely and is bloody excellent. There's not an ounce of play in it, packaged nicely, and $110 delivered across the country in a couple of days to WA.

Therefore, a highly recommended trusted supplier...

    Thanks, David.

    Good show, nice to hear.
We do tend to slag-off when get get bad service or a bad deal but hardly ever make a noise when the seller does an excellent job.

French Connection is kindly taking care of my woes (see R4 thread). I wouldn't have found them if it wasn't for this board. Thank you David - much appreciated!

Ren stuff only ? Old / new stuff ? .... For a moment there I thought you may have been talking about French Connection UK. Nice to see something come across that didn't get charged a gazillion for postage.

John...I don't know if it was the noise. It'll be December before I've got the time to fit it.

OK, here's a corresponding rap for the service department at Garry and Warren Smith in Ringwood (in general) and daniel_the_R12_nut in particular.

Wife came home round noon today complaining that her Clio was suffering an attack of the staggers. Turned it over and it seemed to be running on about 2˝ cylinders (but nevertheless didn't quite feel that it was going to stall).

Quick trip -- well, actually not nearly as quick as it could have been -- up to Ringwood to ask Daniel what he thought. Said it sounded like a shot coil or two, go and wait in the service lounge and we'll see what we can do (this with an apparently full shop already). Hey presto, barely 30 or 40 minutes later and I'm on my way again on all four at a VERY attractive price -- gotta love a 3-year warranty , even if 24,000km seems a bit old for parts to be suffering from infant mortality, and a bit young for them to be wearing out. (Anyone able to comment on how common or frequent a problem this is likely to be? )
