No its not the replacement for the Twingo. Its a mini monospace in between the Twingo and the Scenic. Official release is tomorrow for the production car. Due on the streets in September. Due in my garage in February perhaps.

OK I'll bite, what exactly is a "Paris" car, and how does it differ from, say, a "Oslo" car?

    found in the Sunday Times
"Modus is part of the Clio family but is 7in taller and 3in wider than a Clio hatchback. It is hardly changed from the Modus concept car that appeared at the Geneva Motor Show in March and will be available from September at prices starting below £10,000. There will be five engines — 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol units plus two 1.5 litre dCi diesels. The chassis platform is actually that of the new Clio, due next year, and shared with the latest Nissan Micra.
Renault claims that the Modus is the most spacious compact car ever, which may be questionable, although the figures suggest that it provides as much room in a smaller package as its main rivals, the Vauxhall Meriva and Fiat Idea. The rear seat adjusts sideways to accommodate two or three people and slides fore and aft by up to 7in. The tailgate splits, but with an unusual arrangement whereby the base of the door can drop down independently — rather like the boot lid of the original Mini — to ease access in a confined space. "
A new segment starts, by Renault of course.

From the back it looks like a Daewoo MATIZ.....definitely a Campelltown car...Twingo is a much better looking piece of gear.

Daniel did you check out the 16v 19 cabrio on trademe.co.nz?

Nah...I said it looks like a MATIZ...not that it is small. My guess is that it isn't huge either...it's just that tall narrow MATIZy look ... a bigger MATIZ...marginally bigger MATIZ dunno but it doesn't look unlike it from the rear. Besides which if was doing 61kmhr in a 60 zone you'd still book it

The top view that Daniel provided looks good, but the other pics make the styling look pretty ordinary.

No, he was Italian, so that'll make it a Rome car by my reckoning.....

Is it just me, or does it look a bit SMART car-ish from the back?

It's the way that the rear wheels stick out the back like poodle's balls I think Kevin, combined with the height/width ratio - it does look a bit SMART like in a Daewoo sort of way.

The top picture was actually the show car picture - note the lack of windscreen wipers.

As usual, the final product is slightly toned down (probably for cost reasons!)
