Default Ye old car wiring (yeah ok 70's and 80's)

So just thinking ahead to that next rainy day (as if). A recent found love of relays has me all excited.

Who knew with some fuses how handy these things would be!

Anyway was just looking over the Haynes to get an idea of how many circuits ye old things have; I think I understand the wiring diagram (I don't understand the wiring diagram) Is this really, pretty much all there is in say a 70's Renault / Peugeot

    LIGHTS
    -Left indicator front
    -Right indicator front
    -Left indicator rear
    -Right indicator rear
    -Hi beam
    -Low Beam
    -Parkers
    -Interior light
    -Boot light

    ACTUALLY USEFUL
    -Fuel pump (rear)
    -Coil
    -Fan (sometimes)
    -Horn
    -Dash (instrument cluster)
    -Radio (sometimes)
    -Starter motor
    -Windscreen spray pump (maybe)

    SENSORS
    -Handbrake sensor
    -Brake sensor
    -Brake fluid (sometimes)
    -Oil temp
    -Water temp
    -Reverse (maybe)

That seems, well not overly that complicated. What circuits have I omitted?

Anyway I'm about to wire up the ECU, fan and coil pack properly, (relay's switches and fuses) and I'm going to throw on a few circuits in effort to be prepared for the next stage of tinkering.

Geez. the mind boggles. I'm about to do the same thing Bowie. Add an ECU to ye old R17. But i will do as the directions dictate.
and adding extra gauges. let me know your thoughts as we can share ideas. I'm looking at a relay box of about 4 relay's. but I don't want it seen under the hood but may have too.
“Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once.” Cheers. John

You can buy relay mounting blocks that slot into each other off eBay, so you can customise how many relays you need.
I mounted mine in two rows.
