    Default BARNIE's next challenge.

Well here is the next challenge.
Spent 4 hours removing the seats and wire brushing the floor yesterday. All loose paint and removable rust removed, next chemical conversion of rust areas then primer then brush on some sort of bitumen paint or I'll take any better suggestions that anyone can offer. There a couple of places where I've made up metal plates to weld in at the back rear floor area. The below pics are before the work started.

    Cheers
    Phil

Compared to many it doesn't seem to bad. Hate the red hand brake though.

I'd call that good condition as I can't see the garage floor

Phil, I used PPC coatings products on my R8. Works really well, but only if the instructions are adhered to. KBS are another company with similar products and are equal or better in their quality.

Strip off the red and get it chromed. They are nearly all rusty anyway so let it go rusty and it'll match most of the others.

Zinc coating is quite cheap for the handbrake lever.

Re the floor - have you considered the stick on panels like dynamat. You can get cheap Chinese knockoffs on eBay fairly cheap . I refer to those as chinamat. Would help with soundproofing too.
