    Default Renault 20TS Carburettor

The carby on my Renault 20TS (Weber 32DARA34) is becoming a little tired after around 40 years. I have been trying to find a replacement without any success.

Might anybody have a suitable carby laying around the place from an R20 which has long been off the road. If I cannot find a DARA is anybody aware of an alternative that I may be able to use ? I have seen a 32DARA38 on ebay but do not know what the difference may be. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John

    G'day,

    you might find these useful....

The biggest improvement you can make to these devils is get rid of the hose tangle. The carb you found looks to have a bigger secondary, probably not a problem. The Fuego also has a similar carb. There are bound to be many options, but, they're all OLD.

Unless you are looking for original at any cost, you might be better off in the long run investigating an aftermarket injection setup ?

    cheers,
    Bob

The main thing that wears in these carbs is where the main shaft goes through the body. This causes uneven idle as the intake air “cheats” not going past the jet. The body can be bushed or a slightly thicker shaft fitted with the hole reamed to fit.
