may be a little confusion regarding flanges terminology as all r16 vehicles had drive shaft inner joint splines over axle which was different side gear outer end section. diff side seal nuts surrounded inner shaft joint these adjusted bearing pre-load and backlash between crown wheel and pinion. cannot recall a flange at this area. ..

If we can confirm Dacia's definition, I can get you 2. The alloy rings that need a fancy spanner to turn, and have a clamp to stop them loosening

Thanks for the replies so far but to explain better what I need....
I have a Slough Light 15 that has bits & pieces of just about everything on it including a Renault 1600 Engine & 4 speed transmission.
The transmission is hooked up to the front wheel drive with Austin 1800? 1/2 shafts old solid disc Holden brakes & MG wheels/hubs.
For the purists I have a vehicle that has been highly modified in the past so I am not spoiling or destroying a restorable vehicle.

I am rationalising all this stuff out board of the transmission to be all late model Holden Astra & it will have ventilated discs & solid steel Citroen type wheels, again. Same is being done to the rear with Astra rear disc hubs & handbrake.
Steering will be Astra electric power rack & pinion.

Currently the flanges I am after are the drive from the transmission differential that have been welded to the 1800 half shafts.
The centre 2 pictures may give a better understanding of the two 'flanges' [one each side] I am looking for. I need these to connect to the modified to length Astra drive shafts

These 'flanges' shown in the middle pics may or may not be original to this transmission but I'm sure someone or other can identify & assist me. Thanks JG.

Brings new meaning to "hybrid", that is for sure! Good grief. So much work...

The parts you are after seem to be just cut off drive shaft stubs and welded.

Get any Renault drive shaft machine off then weld to what you want

    Easy

What JG wants is this part of the drive shaft. As I have cleared a lot of junk I do not have spline couplings available at present. The UJ yoke to the side is reslpined R10 for big box.

Just to add to what Driven has mentioned I have removed the splined potion of 2 front wheel drive shafts of a R16. the spline portion was actually welded on originally from the factory ! I am planning on opening up the 330 splined unit and weld the larger splined units into the 330 yoke ends so I can run the big box internals .

In this case if you are just after the splined yoke and there is no restrictions on size I know that the lotus Europa runs a similar unit on their half shafts ,however the ones I seen from the Europa where to large to work on my 330 swing axles .

The very earliest’68 model R16 had universal joints in the driveshafts, rather than the later CV joints. Don’t know what is left, but at the sellout of the French Wrecker at Drayton at Toowoomba there were some there. I picked up 2 complete ones for a friend, but I am sure there were more, but may all be dumped by now.
