    Default Caravelle Fuel Gauge needed

    Hi everyone
Daughter's 68 Caravelle Fuel Gauge is dead and we need a new one. The old fuel gauge is at the menders and the part to fix it is not available.
If anyone has a fuel gauge out there, that they are willing to part with, would love to hear from you.
    Thanks

    G'day,

They aren't common but do come up for sale occasionally. I'm not at all sure if this will fit your Caravelle but maybe it will..?

Which dashboard is it? The combination type or the 1100S with separate fuel gauge? If the 1100S, it may be able to be substituted with a Jaeger gauge from an early RHD Citroen GS. They have a similar gauge with a matt black surround, otherwise if it has a chrome surround, it comes under the heading of Alpine and Gordini compatible, where the costs can spiral :-)

Looks like I am asking for the impossible. The 68 Caravelle has the separate Fuel Gauge that is NOT a part of the speedo etc.
The menders have stated that the electrics behind the needle have died and they can rebuild it if I can find an equivalent electrics for the gauge. Therefore would a Renault 10 fuel gauge electrics work?
    Some advice would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Hi everyone
Just to let you know I got a Fuel Gauge. Colin at Alpine Affaire had a fuel gauge from an old Citroen that he thought might do the trick.
Took it to the menders at Howard Instruments and was told it worked and was compatible with the sender unit. They changed the chrome trim from the old gauge to the replacement gauge and all looks like new again.
Looking forward to getting everything back together again.
