Default In AWE of what some people pay for Reconstuction of an Alpne !!

Having done a few rebuilds of Classic Renaults over the years, I am in AWE of what some people will go to to have their "hulk" brought back to life for their pleasure. The cost must be well over the value of the vehicles.

Going through the projects on the sites that Shoji highlighted the other day, I found this. Just an Awesome process. I wished I had the facillities available to me. :

Holy crap that's just a bit of work!

Also, did not realize the A310 where fiberglass too. They don't "look" so heavy all of a sudden.

It is amazing to watch these artisans with their craft.

Yeah, but have you noticed the timeline? Took three years and it's not painted.

    So ????

Sam's A110 has taken 2 years 2 months to complete working on it nearly every day.

Graeme's Gordini took 19 months, nearly full time work.

That's what I'd love, An A310 group 4 body with a modern quad cam V6 in it........except I'd like a couple of little hair dryers stuck down there out of sight.

Only 3 years? My 404 has been ongoing for 6&1/2 yrs and still can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

David I agree with you. Except for the "hair dryers". I love A110s, but driving Tom Riley's 310/V6 is exhilarating, and it is an odd-fire, with triple choke Webers. And they are cheaper than A110s in run down condition.

    Take care,

Not many of us have 100k in our back pocket to get our cars restored. Most people do it on the drip feed and most workshops allow for that.

Yes I'd be interested in something like that for myself. Group 4 body kit with a picnic table across the back the size of a Cessna wing with modern even fire engine. Hair dyrers are optional.

Biggest mistake selling my A310V6 Group 4.
It will be unlikely to see the light of day while someone tries to "imorove" it...
