Default 1967 Renault - spare parts

I want to start refurbishing my 1967 Renault but need some parts.

Besides the usual rubbers and bearings I need the following probably second pieces:-
    • Brake callipers or pistons,
    • Hand Brake lever,
    • Gear stick lever,
    • Peddle assemble (all 3 peddles),
    • Ceiling liner rods and liner at lest as a cutting guide,

Does anyone know a likely wrecker?
    Thanks Geoff

I'm pretty shure that Renault built more than just one model in 1967.

Like Ove, it would help if you state what model.
If it is R8/10, I can help with almost all of your requirements. The roof liner only being a loan however as I need to do the same thing at some stage in th future.

If you look at Geoff's profile it shows a photo of a 10. I'm guessing that is the "1967 Renault" that Geoff refers to

Not necessarily. That shows a square eye 10 that first came out in 68 I believe. He also refers to an album for a resto of 1969 R10, so he may have sold or scrapped that and bought another 1967 R4; R10 (round eye); 16 or whatever else was available in 1967 - or he just made a typo on the date in the title

    No!
The R10 he restored was built in 1969.

    Hi mate,
How soon do you want these parts? I have brake callipers & pistons, a pedal assembly, but am doing up my R8 very soon, but need to make sure I have enough parts.

Hi, It is a round eye - 10 or 8 which ever you like!
Most parts are inter changeable of course.

Great to hear of another R8 being recovered. 1967 is pretty late for an R8 in Oz.

    More information welcomed here!

I’m guessing it’s a round eye 10. They really are an 8 1/2 so his description is somewhat accurate. It’s possible to be a 67 R8 I guess but that would be pretty late.
Could be that burgundy one that was for sale in Tamworth for $500, rather than the green one at the dealers for over $3k.

If it is a "proper" 1967 8, it would likely be a personal import. The Australian assembled 8 1100 was effectively replaced by the round-eye 10 introduced in July 1966. Although just (a few months) before being discontinued, it did score the 1966 model year updates of the walnut finish Renault 10 dashboard, and rectangular pressing on the C-pillar, with some of those final 8s also scoring the "alcantera" trim. In which case, it may also be a 1966 build car first registered in 1967 - before build dates were important to the registration authorities. :-)

I spoke to Geoff today and we’re meeting up tomorrow. It is a round eye 10 I believe. I think he has owned it a while so not one of the two recently on the market.

Yes, I once saw one of those last R8s with the walnut finish dashboard, in Glenelg!

Now I hope people can see why dealers attach so much importance to the VIN number when ordering spare parts for modern cars. And with the older Renaults, why the Oval Plate details can save on so much bandwidth, given there are so many permutations for a "1967 Renault" :-)

    I must be going crazy..
I saw an an add for a burgundy round eye 10 in the last day or so. It was located in Tamworth and was pictured sitting on the bac’ of a car trailer (viewed from the rear). Did anyone else see that? I can’t for the life of me find it now - ebay, gumtree, carsales, AF.
I have a feeling it was gumtree. Anyone?
