    Default FS R15/16/17 rings -maybe

Anyone have an interest in buying some ring sets for the above engines.

I maybe able to get a bunch at a reasonable price. Just not sure what that price is.

If I could get a full set at under $100 would ther be any takers?

I'm getting the 1565cc ones 77mm bores. But there's a minimum order so other sizes would be ok.

Yes and I'll check the bore size because it will be for the 1596cc Gordini pistons I think. I might also want a set for a 1605 cc engine but it isn't in pieces so not sure that it is original size or if the pistons/bores are even any good so I'll ponder on that.

Check out Mitsubishi 4G32 piston rings, 77mm. at $5 per set
    https://partswecan.com/product/4g32-...ermarket-part/

Alibaba $10 per set for Renault

How about new pistons from India $2 each as well

    Okay

    The sizes listed are:
    Eng Bore Cap
    697 76.00 1470
    821 77.00 1565
    843 79.00 1647

the 1605cc 78 mm does not come up under a Renault listing.

However there is a Peugeot listing for a 78mm bore with piston ring thicknesses of (top to oil ring) 1.75, 2.0 and 4.0 which is the same as the 1605 motor.

There are also, I think, separate listings of rings or those dimensions

I did suspect you could use 205GTI rings for the 807.

If you feel adventurous (again) I can sell you the leftover rings from my 205GTI build (I should have more than a complete good set).

    I think the 205 GTI runs a 78mm bore. I'm hunting the 807 1565cc ones.

Geckoeng has tracked me down a set of new piston with rings for a cost equivelent of a modest dinner for two + movies.

I'm still interested in getting a couple of sets for 'Ron.

Here's the interesting fing but... in my search for bits for my yahoo rebuild I've been offered by various members here no less than 4 sets of new standard pistons WITHOUT liners. If you were going to the trouble of replacing the liners why not slip the piston in, what were people doing with the liners?

Cheers all, let me know if there's any interest in putting together an order.

Driven, from what I'm reading I can get these parts at these prices if I'm prepared to order 50 or more.

Funny, I've had a set of 1108 pistons and rings, barely used, without sleeves, for years/decades. Ditto for the Citroen CX! Very odd.

    True, that.

A full set of rings from Mecaparts is about 100$ plus shipping. How good is the price you can get for that order?

Liners can be easily bored out to increase engine capacity?

Or maybe Renault liners out of kits were used as cheaper and/or better quality replacement for some other make?

Okay the quote is in. At current rates the prices are:
    $63 for the 1565cc
    $55 for the 1647cc
    $75 for the 1605cc

    Plus postage to me.

There will be a further $8 or so to get it from me to you at standard Oz post rates.

Please note that all these ring set use a three piece oil ring.

    Last Call.

I'll be putting in an order for a couple of sets this week.

Is there anyone else wants to get a set of rings?
