Default The Alpine A110 /Top Gear Fire

It seems like an age since the Pre-Production A110 melted into the environment but it appears that if the reason for it's demise is known, the reason has not been made public, either by Alpine or by it's major sponsor, Renault. One wonders how this P.R. disaster will impact on forthcoming sales?

Yes, John. We are surprised. Don't forget though, the Top Gear team have immolated several different vehicles over the years and appear to have the secret recipe.......

It appears that the marketing/sales department have decided that those who are infatuated with the current version of an A110 will buy it anyway. Those who are not yet convinced have another reason not to buy one. No PR disaster so no need to provide any reason for the spontaneous combustion. Business as usual for a vehicle manufacturer.

I wonder who supplies the airbags ?

The New A110 is actually a couple of (side) airbags short. The reason that imports can't exceed 100 P.A. And, like the rest of the Renault group, their airbags are NOT supplied by Takata. AFAWK.

Are these new Alpines the real deal or are they just cashing in on the name?
They look OK but maybe a bit generic.

Real deal I would have thought...lightweight with precision handling combined with an engine which is not a powerhouse but gets the car along extremely well...a good 2018 iteration I reckon. I just wish I could afford one...............

It's pretty academic, if they have a habit of self immolating

Only when driven by Top Gear employees, remember! There have been a fair few made pre-production and so far only one has caught fire. Same can't be said for some other brands:

Interesting. I have had a bit of a read about these cars in the meantime. They get very good reviews, I will say.so
They are 50k quid, but, so they would want to be pretty good. Andy
